Ousmane Dabo has revealed he wants to end his Manchester City nightmare.
The defender was put in hospital after allegedly being attacked by former team-mate Joey Barton last month.
Dabo needed treatment for injuries to his eye, nose and lip after the training ground fight.
The 30-year-old France international claims he is wanted by clubs in Italy and Spain.
Despite a potential new era under owner Thaksin Shinawatra and manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, Dabo wants to quit City.
"My time there has been difficult and I cannot forget the fight with Barton. Although he has now left it doesn't change much for me," Dabo told the News of the World.
"I haven't had the best of times. The old boss Stuart Pearce didn't pick me after saying he absolutely needed me in the team.
"Then came the fight with Barton. Ideally I won't be at City next season. I have a lot of contacts in Italy but Spain would be my preferred option.
"If the new man wants me I could change my mind. But that is a long-shot. I feel I will leave."
The former Lazio star made just 17 appearances for City last season, mostly as a substitute.
Dabo was signed by former manager Stuart Pearce on a free transfer last summer.
