League leaders Arsenal crushed Derby County 5-0 to maintain their undefeated run and remain top of the Premier League table.
The Gunners were impressive throughout the match with Emmanuel Adebayor scoring a hat-trick which included a penalty and a low rasping drive.
Abou Diaby had opened the scoring with a stunning effort past Stephen Bywater into the top corner and Cesc Fabregas continued his impressive scoring run with a right-foot strike.
Second-place Liverpool were held at home to newly promoted Birmingham City as their fringe players failed to find the net.
The Champions League finalists looked out of sorts as Rafael Benitez paid the prize for resting most of his star performers.
Meanwhile, James Harper scored a late goal for Reading as they claimed all three points against Wigan at the Madejski stadium.
Dave Kitson opened the scoring after a Chris Kirkland error and a Jason Koumas free kick brought the scores level just after half time but Harper secured victory with his 90th minute strike.
And the Tyne-Tees derby ended all square after Liam Miller secured a point at the death for Sunderland against Middlesbrough.
Grant Leadbitter had opened the scoring in the second minute but Middlesbrough fought back with goals from Julio Arca and Stewart Downing until Miller salvaged a point in the 89th minute.
