Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has denied reports that he is set to take charge of Italian side Inter Milan.
Mourinho has been out of the game since leaving Chelsea earlier this season and reports had suggested that he was in talks with Inter about becoming their manager next season.
"I say categorically it is not true that I went to Milan, that I met with Massimo Moratti. It is just false to say that I am on the point of signing a contract with Inter Milan," Mourinho said.
The Portuguese boasts an impressive CV having won the Champions League with Porto and the Premier League and FA Cup while at Chelsea and has attracted interest from several top European clubs.
Earlier in the week Mourinho's personal adviser Eladio Parames appeared to confirm the rumours, saying: "Of course, it was Inter who contacted Mourinho and his agent, not Mourinho contacting them. He has always showed interest in working in Italy, and he received the contact with pleasure."
Current Inter manager Roberto Mancini announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season after his side was knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool, but changed his mind the next day, saying he wants to stay.
