Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has been ruled out for up to a month with a knee injury he sustained on international duty with the Netherlands.
The 24-year-old has been assessed by the Dutch medical team and the initial prognosis is that the Gunners marksman will miss four weeks' football.
Manager Arsene Wenger admitted he has not seen his player since the beginning of the international break but he has been told Van Persie picked up the injury during the Euro 2008 qualifier against Slovenia last night.
"It looks like a knee injury," Wenger told Arsenal TV.
"We will know later today how bad it is but the early signs are that he will not be able to perform for us in the next four weeks.
"It is a big blow. Robin is a striker, a supportive striker and important on set-pieces as well. I hope he will be back soon and we'll do the maximum to get him back."
In further bad news for the Gunners, Swiss defender Philippe Senderos has picked up a back injury on international duty and will miss two weeks.
However Frenchman William Gallas, German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann and Czech Republic midfielder Tomas Rosicky are all now available for the visit of Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
