Russian star Andrei Arshavin's agent has hinted the player would be interested in signing for Arsenal this summer.

Dennis Lachter believes the influence of manager Arsene Wenger, and the nature of the Gunners as a club within English football, would persuade the Zenit St Petersburg forward to opt for the Emirates Stadium over any other interested parties in the Premier League.

"The stable situation in the club and the influence of Arsene Wenger and Arsenal to English football is huge. I think this is an advantage," Lachter told Sky Sports.

The agent also believes the make-up of the Arsenal team, which is one of the younger lineups in the English top-flight, would suit a player of 27-year-old Arshavin's experience.

"If Arsenal go for Arshavin it could be really good for both parties," he continued.

"Arsenal is a very young team and Arshavin is 27. There's something about combining young and older players, they propagate attacking football."

Arshavin has caught the eye of a number of clubs this summer following his starring role in Russia's run to the semi-finals of Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.

The player himself admitted a move to Barcelona would have been his "dream" but it appears the Catalan giants have cooled their interest after seeing their £20 million bid turned down.
