The big race of the day at Royal Ascot, the Prince of Wales' Stakes, was won by 15-8 favourite Manduro, ridden by Stephane Pasquier.
The Andre Fabre-trained horse was on the pace from the start and managed to hold off the challenge of Dylan Thomas, trained by Aidan O'Brien, to scoop the plaudits.
The early pace was set by Sir Percy and Notnowcato, who eventually took third place, but as the field entered the final stages the top two pulled away with Manduro pipping Dylan Thomas by a length at the finishing post.
Manduro's win means he goes one better than last year's race, when he was placed third behind eventual winner Ouija Board.
Earlier in the day, Tariq won the Jersey Stakes ahead of the 6-5 favourite US Ranger, who was beaten into second while Jimmy Fortune rode 3-1 joint-favourite Nannina to victory in the Windsor Forest Stakes ahead of fellow market-leader Satwa Queen, ridden by Frankie Dettori.
Fortune had his second winner of the day in the Royal Hunt Cup Heritage Handicap aboard Royal Oath, before Johnny Murtagh made up for his two earlier placed finishes with victory in the Queen Mary Stakes atop 20-1 outsider Elletelle, beating 4-1 favourite Starlit Sands into second.
