A 14-year-old girl has been accused of child pornography after posting nude pictures of herself on the social networking website MySpace.
The teenager from New Jersey posted almost 30 pictures of herself on the site and could now be forced to register as a sex offender if convicted, reports suggest.
Her arrest comes as prosecutors in the United States pursue pornography cases over children sending naked photographs to each other on their mobile phones and by email.
MySpace has not yet commented on the New Jersey investigation.
The Press Association claim police arrested the girl following a tip-off from America's National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
Local police spokesman Bill Maer said the girl had posted the images for her boyfriend to see. She has since been charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
She has now been released into her mother's custody.
