Jenna Bush weds in private ceremony
The daughter of US president George W Bush has married her fiance in a private Texas ceremony, it was confirmed today.
Jenna, who is 26 and one of President Bush's two daughters, wed Henry Hagar, a business student and ex-aide to Karl Rove, at the family's Crawford ranch.
Few official details were released regarding the ceremony, but reports say 200 family members and close friends watched the couple become newlyweds.
President Bush said in his weekly address that the day was "a joyous occasion for our family".
Maid of honour was Jenna's twin sister Barbara, while the bride wore an embroidered Oscar de la Renta gown. The ring is a Hagar family heirloom and includes diamonds and sapphires.
The new Mr and Mrs Hagar picked Lovin' In My Baby's Eyes for their first dance, while the president and his daughter took to the floor for You Are So Beautiful, confirmed Tyrone Smith, leader of wedding band The Tyrone Smith Revue.
Since her father became president of the United States, Jenna has been in the public eye for a number of other reasons. She is now an author and schoolteacher but was charged with a misdemeanor offence in 2001 for being underage and in possession of alcohol.
The following month she was charged again - this time for using a fake identification to purchase alcohol.
