Scotland striker Kenny Miller says his side are still confident they can qualify for Euro 2008, despite suffering a defeat to Georgia last night.
Alex McLeish's men, top of the group until the setback in Tblisi, must now beat world champions Italy at Hampden Park next month to make the finals tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
Such a result would be another shock in a qualifying campaign that has seen the Scots beat World Cup runners-up France both home and away.
And Derby County forward Miller says the confidence in the squad has been dented but by no means destroyed by the "disappointing performance" against the Georgians.
"Maybe we were overdue a bad result and hopefully we will be back on the boil against Italy," he said.
"We've won our five games at home, so there's no reason why we can't beat them at Hampden."
Miller also said the players would look back on a confident showing against World Cup quarterfinalists Ukraine at home last weekend for a boost before the visit of the Azzurri.
"Things have been going incredibly well and the victory on Saturday has still set us up nicely," he continued.
"We never really got started [against Georgia]. We were not hard to play against as a team and that is what we have been doing in previous games."
