All three British representatives in the second qualifying round of the Uefa Cup have been paired with Scandinavian opposition following today's draw in Nyon.

Manchester City, who reached the second stage following last night's comfortable 2-0 win over Streymur in the first round, have been paired with Danish runners-up FC Midtjylland.

And Martin O'Neill's Aston Villa side, who qualified through the Intertoto Cup, will face Icelandic side FH (Fimleikafelag Hafnarfjaroarb) who finished second in their domestic competition last season.

Scottish minnows Queen of the South, who are in the second qualifying round courtesy of their appearance in last season's Scottish Cup final which they lost to Rangers, will play Nordsjaelland of Denmark.

Nordsjaelland have Scottish connections of their own as their manager is Morten Wieghorst, a former fan favourite at Celtic.

Other notable ties in the second qualifying round include Spain's Deportivo La Coruna against Hajduk Split of Croatia; FC Zurich of Switzerland against neighbouring Austria's Sturm Graz; and Danish side FC Copenhagen, who are in the second tier of European competition after finishing third in their domestic league, play Lillestrom of Norway.
