Manager Stuart Pearce has said England "should win" tonight's European U21 Championship final against Germany tonight.
Pearce's team qualified for the final courtesy of a penalty shootout victory over tournament hosts Sweden, despite holding a 3-0 lead at one stage.
But rather than dwell on the nature of their narrow win, Pearce remains confident his side have enough firepower to see off their German counterparts.
"When the penalty hit the post everything else was irrelevant and only Monday was important," he said.
"We came here to win - now we want to take the trophy home. We're looking forward to it and we should win."
Pearce, who in his playing days was always something of a motivator, called on his youngsters to "show guts" and believes the fittest team will emerge as the victors.
"Whichever team takes their chances will win," he continued.
"Only one team stands in our way now."
