Rafael Nadal only managed to play nine minutes of his first round match at the French Open on Tuesday as rain continued to pour in Paris.
The defending champion is level at 1-1 in the first set with Thomaz Bellucci as the match between the pair rolls into a third day at Roland Garros.
Due to persistent showers at the start of the day and midway through the afternoon it was not possible to get many matches finished leaving Nadal and Bellucci, who were second on court, with nothing to do but watch the rain fall.
There were some matches in the men's draw that finished on Tuesday. Russian Nikolay Davydenko progressed into the second round thanks to a straight sets win over Thomas Johansson.
Davydenko broke Johansson five times during the match and was not broken at all by the Swede, he dominated proceedings to win 6-3 6-3 6-3.
The fourth seed could face compatriot Marat Safin in the next round. Safin's match against Jean-Rene Lisnard was level at one-set-all before the rain forced them off the court.
Elsewhere, ninth seed Stanislas Wawrinka maintained his impressive form with a 6-3 6-4 6-3 win over German Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Juan Monaco, the 13th seed, was the biggest name to lose today. He was defeated 6-2 6-3 6-1 by Sweden's Robin Soderling.
Former Wimbledon semi-finalist Mario Ancic continued his comeback from illness with a good win over 31st seed Andreas Seppi 6-2 7-6 7/1 6-2.
