Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee and Sweden's Alexander Noren hold a joint lead of the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond after carding seven-under-par first rounds of 64.
The two outsiders sit one shot clear of 2007 US Open champion Angel Cabrera, who went round in 65 for a solid first day's work.
England's John Bickerton and Wales' Garry Houston are tied with Sweden's Niclas Fasth a further shot back on five under par, while Ryder Cup points leader Lee Westwood is well in contention in joint seventh after a four-under-par round of 67.
Further down the leaderboard, promising English youngster Oliver Fisher, 19, is tied for 19th on three under par alongside Cabrera's countryman Andres Romero.
England's David Dixon, Ross Fisher, Mark Foster, Robert Dinwiddie and Tom Whitehouse; Scottish professionals Paul Lawrie and David Drysdale and amateur John Gallagher; and Irishmen Damien McGrane and Gary Murphy all join the 17-player tie for 19th after 68s on day one.
