Brian Gay has won the Verizon Heritage PGA Tour title in South Carolina after a record-breaking 20-under-par score for the tournament.
The American, who carded a seven-under 64 on his final round at Hilton Head Island, recorded just his second ever Tour victory after a dominant weekend.
Gay's overall score beats the previous tournament record of 19-under-par that saw Loren Roberts win the Verizon Heritage in 1996.
And his winning margin of ten shots from England's Luke Donald and Briny Baird also eclipses the previous record of seven strokes that enabled Davis Love to win the same trophy in 1998.
"I told myself to keep my head down and keep plugging along," Gay said afterwards.
"I didn't watch the leaderboards."
Australian Wilkinson was Gay's closest challenger but parred the first two holes before dropping a shot on the third.
England's Greg Owen finished at one under par alongside Fredrik Jacobson of Sweden, while Ernie Els of South Africa ended the week at level par.
Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy finished at two over par after closing with a level-par 71.
