South Korea's KJ Choi carded a seven-under-par round of 65 on the final day to come from behind and win the Memorial Tournament in Ohio.

Having trailed overnight leader Rob Pampling of Australia by five shots heading into Sunday's final round, Choi bagged four birdies in a row on the front nine.

He also saved par several times when it looked as if he would drop shots, which turned out to be equally important in the final table as he pipped American Ryan Moore by a single shot as he carded a six-under-par round of 66.

Kenny Perry enjoyed the best round of the day as he made an unexpected run at the top of the leaderboard. A nine-under round of 63 helped him into contention but Choi's equally solid performance kept enough distance between the American and the leader.

World number one Tiger Woods put in an improved round of five-under on the final day - his last competition before the US Open in ten days' time - to move into a tie for 15th overall.

Fijian Vijay Singh, another of the favourites for next week's major, and South African Ernie Els both also carded five-under 67s to join Woods.

World number seven Adam Scott, who was in contention earlier in the tournament after a superb second round 62, could only manage a 70 on day four. He finished joint-fifth along with Sweden's Fredrik Jacobson and Americans Stewart Cink and Sean O'Hair.
