The US actress Mia Farrow has begun her hunger strike over the continuing humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
The 64-year-old claims her protest is at the expulsion of foreign aid agencies from the region after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Sudan's president Omar al-Bashir.
The court has accused the president of crimes against humanity, as well as war crime in Sudanese region.
Farrow claims her water-only fast will act as a gesture of solidarity and a "personal expression of outrage" at the continuing crisis in Darfur.
The actress told People magazine she was hoping to continue the hunger strike for around three weeks.
"I am going to get my blood tested after two weeks and if there is organ damage, I will have to stop," she said.
The United Nations believes some 300,000 people have died and 2.7 million made homeless by the conflict in Darfur which began in 2003.
