Fernando Torres has revealed he wants to return to Atletico Madrid before the end of his career.
The striker joined Liverpool from the Spanish club for £26.5 million in July 2007.
Torres returned from a hamstring injury yesterday as a substitute in the Reds' 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.
The 24-year-old has become a hero on Merseyside after scoring 29 league goals in 35 games.
But the forward said he does not want to finish his career at Anfield.
"I hope to experience many things still, but for me it (Atletico) is an exceptional club," Torres told The People newspaper.
"I don't know if I will retire there, but I would like to go back and finish some things that are left to do.
"When I was there I couldn't do any more, but I would like to go back.
"[But] right now I have no plans to leave England. Not to Spain, not to Italy, not to another English club."
Torres spent six years at Atletico after joining as a trainee, and went on to make 200 league appearances for the club.
The Euro 2008 winner, who had missed six games through injury, is expected to start in the Reds' clash with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday at the Reebok Stadium.
