Rafael Benitez has blasted Spanish national team for causing Fernando Torres' recurring hamstring injuries.
Torres is out for at least three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Liverpool's 1-0 win over Marseille on Wednesday at Anfield.
It is the fifth hamstring injury the striker has had over the last 16 months. The 24-year-old has recently returned from a five-week absence after a similar injury.
Benitez claims his training regime with Spain is ruining Torres' career.
"He has been injured now three times while with the national team and it is something we have to analyse," the Spaniard said.
"We know they are doing something that is maybe not the best for the player.
"We are very disappointed with the situation. We have to analyse why it has happened.
"We have been working with prevention exercises in the past, and still we have the same problem."
Liverpool will have showdown talks with the Spanish management team to resolve any issues about the training on national duty.
Torres is set to miss the league games against West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers, and Hull City along with the Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven.
