A Spanish judge has called three mechanics in for questioning on suspicion of manslaughter over the Spanair plane crash which killed 154 people in August, reports claim.
The Associated Press news agency quoted a Madrid superior justice spokesman as saying the judge had cited two mechanics who checked the plane before it took off and crashed and the airline's head of maintenance at Madrid's Barajas airport.
Earlier this month an official report into the tragedy said investigations into the crash were focusing on the plane's wing flags and the failure of a cockpit warning system.
On August 20, the Spanair MD-82 flight crashed immediately after take off. Only 18 people survived, making it Spain's worst aviation accident in 25 years.
