Liverpool have been hit with the news that star striker Fernando Torres will be out for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury.
The Spaniard has had a spell out of action already this season with a hamstring problem which caused him to miss six games.
Torres has only recently returned from injury and started the Premier League game against Fulham on Saturday and played 90 minutes in the Champions League win over Marseille yesterday.
He complained of tightness in his hamstring after the game and now faces another spell out of action.
The striker will definitely miss the Premier League games against West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers, and he could be ruled out for the game against Hull City on December 13th.
He will also be unavailable for the Champions League game away at PSV Eindhoven.
The injury problems don't end with Torres for Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, however, as defender Fabio Aurelio has also been ruled out for two weeks with a calf injury.
"Fernando has a strain in his right hamstring and will be out of action for between two and three weeks," a Liverpool spokesman confirmed to the club's official website.
"Fabio has a calf strain in his left leg and will be out for two weeks."
