In-demand striker Marc-Antoine Fortune looks to be heading for a move to the Premier League by joining Hull City.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Scottish giants Celtic with new boss Tony Mowbray interested in taking Fortune with him from West Brom. Reports had suggested that Celtic had offered £3.8 million for the striker who spent last season on loan at the Baggies.

However, Fortune's agent Nicolas Holveck has revealed that Hull are now in pole-position to capture the Nancy striker after they were given permission to speak to him.

"He has had permission to speak to clubs but the most advanced discussions, and the team that is very close to signing him, is Hull City," said Holveck.

"It's highly possible a deal will be agreed over the weekend and, while these things can change at the last minute, Hull are the clear favourites."

Hull manager Phil Brown looks to be keen on a new strike force at the KC Stadium which will partner Fortune alongside Michael Owen.

Brown is the only Premier League manager to admit he is interested in signing Owen and is eager to setup a meeting with Owen and his advisors to try and persuade the former Liverpool and Real Madrid forward to join Hull.
