Spaniard Sergio Garcia will take a four shot lead into the final round of the Castello Masters after hitting a third round five-under-par 66.
Playing in his home tournament at the Club de Campo course in Castellon, Garcia went into the day as joint leader alongside Richard Finch and Soren Kjeldsen on 11-under-par, but while the other two struggled, Garcia had a solid round to storm to 16-under-par.
The 28-year-old had a blistering start to the round as he birdied the second hole, before adding four consecutive birdies inside the first nine holes. He would have been unhappy with the way he finished the round as he bogeyed three holes to go with three more birdies that he picked up.
"I'm very motivated to win this tournament for a lot of reasons - it's the European circuit, it's in Spain, on my course," said Garcia.
"I've been close to winning in Europe a few times since 2005 (Garcia's last win in Europe came at the 2005 European Masters) but unfortunately it hasn't happened, but I'll have to play well because those behind me are not going to be quiet.
"It won't be easy but if I keep playing aggressively, like my normal self, I should do it," added Garcia.
Joint overnight leader Kjeldsen could only manage a round of 70 and is now tied for second on 12-under-par alongside England's Simon Dyson and David Lynn and Swede Peter Hedblom.
