England manager Fabio Capello is being investigated by prosecutors in Italy for allegedly lying in court, reports have claimed.
According to judicial sources, Capello is suspected of withholding information during a football corruption trial of six men.
Disgraced Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi, infamous for his role in the Serie A match-fixing scandal of 2006, and Davide Lippi the son of coach Marcello are among the defendants.
The case centres on the sports agency Gea World, which allegedly used threats and violence to engineer financial contracts.
According to reports, Capello's denial he was involved in contractual issues is being questioned by the state prosecutor.
The 61-year-old, who arrived at the Football Association via Real Madrid and Juventus, managed AS Roma between 1999 and 2004, when his testimony said: "I have never heard about players being put under pressure or of incidents relating to the players' contracts."
Under Italian law, the offence of perjury carries a sentence of up to six years in jail.
Weeks after agreeing to manage the Three Lions, Capello was told he faced a probe into alleged offences of tax evasion.
The Italian has assured the FA however his finances are in order.
