Reported Manchester City target Yaya Toure has committed his future to European Champions Barcelona.
The Ivory Coast international was a key member of the Barcelona side that won a remarkable treble last season and he was immense for the Spanish side in the Champions League final against Manchester United.
But Toure had become disgruntled with life at the Nou Camp with his agent revealing that the 26-year-old was unhappy to be one of the lowest paid players among the top stars at Barcelona. This led to speculation that he could move City or join his brother Kolo Toure at Arsenal.
However, the midfielder has now been offered a new deal with the Catalan giants and will stay until 2012 and has a buy-out clause of £85 million.
"What's important is to play at a great club and Barca is the club in which I want to play. This is the shirt in which I want to play," Toure told the official Barcelona website.
"My will is to end my career here, but I have to continue showing that I can play at the level of this club."
Barcelona president Joan Laporta added that he was delighted to extend the contract of one of the "best midfielders in the world".
