Usain Bolt's amazing sprint double at the Beijing Olympics in the summer has topped an inthenews.co.uk poll of the year's top sporting moments.
The Jamaican claimed both the 100m and 200m titles, while setting world records at each distance - including breaking Michael Johnson's incredible 12-year-old world record of 19.32 secs in the longer event.
However, arguably Bolt's most awe-inspiring feat was when he sprinted to 100m gold in a world record time of 9.79 secs - but did so while slowing up and celebrating a full ten to 15 metres before the line.
Taking second place in the poll was the final lap of the 2008 Brazilian grand prix, which saw Lewis Hamilton claim a maiden formula one world title when he overtook Timo Glock in the rain at the penultimate corner to claim an all-important fifth place.
Title rival Felipe Massa's race victory at his home circuit of Interlagos meant Hamilton had to finish at least fifth to take the drivers' crown by one point, and he did so - but only just.
Third place in the vote went to Manchester United, who beat Premier League rivals Chelsea in a penalty shootout to lift the Champions League title and claim a domestic league and European double.
Rafael Nadal's incredible five-set victory over reigning Wimbledon champion Roger Federer in the final at the All England Club tied with Fernando Torres scoring the winning goal for Spain in the Euro 2008 final for fourth spot in the poll.
