Emmanuel Adebayor’s transfer from Arsenal to AC Milan could be back on after the striker’s agent revealed that Arsenal had significantly dropped their asking price.
Milan had previously stated that they would sign only one of Adebayor or Ronaldihno this summer, and with a £12 million deal to sign the Brazilian from Barcelona looking likely to be completed in the next few days it seemed that any move for the Togo international would be off.
Adebayor’s agent Vincenzo Morabito has told Italian television, however, that Arsenal have almost halved their original price tag of £35m for the 24-year-old, which may lead Milan to believe that they can land both their big summer transfer targets.
"We're working to make the deal easier," Morabito told Antenna3.
"We're arriving at more reasonable figures. They're still a lot, but much less than the 45m euros that were initially asked for."
"More than that of Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba, but they are a little bit older."
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has told the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that the Italian joints have stopped any negotiations for Adebayor, who scored 30 goals in 48 games last season, for the time being at least.
"We've stopped dealing with Wenger and have to reconfirm that up to now Milan has above all important sacrifices to make in negotiations with its current players, starting with Kaka," Galliani said.
It would also seem that Milan have now managed to secure a two-year deal with Ronaldinho, which will end whatever slim hopes Manchester City had of signing the Brazilian.
