Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has described Sir Alex Ferguson as a "hypocrite" over his pursuit of striker Dimitar Berbatov.

Levy is incensed at both Manchester United and Liverpool as they look to prize away Berbatov and Robbie Keane from White Hart Lane and has reported both clubs to the Premier League.

He is especially unhappy at the behaviour of Ferguson, who has publically revealed that United have made a bid for Berbatov and was confident the deal would go through.

"It is unbelievably hypocritical given his comments in respect of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid," said Levy.

"Ferguson's public comments announcing that he has made an offer for Dimitar and is confident that the deal will go through with time working in their favour, is a blatant example of sheer arrogance and interference with one of our players.

"It is also probably one of the worst offences by any manager in the Premier League to date. As a result, we have today made an official complaint to the Premier League about the conduct of Manchester United."

Levy added that Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez had made similar comments regarding Keane and he had reported the Mersysiders earlier this week. Levy also described both clubs as "arrogant" and their behaviour as "disgraceful".

He went onto reiterate that Tottenham had no interest in selling either Berbatov or Keane.
