Former England captain Michael Vaughan is on the verge of retiring from first class cricket after being left out of the 16-man Ashes squad.
The 34-year-old will make an announcement on his future on Tuesday.
Vaughan stood down as England captain midway through the series with South Africa last summer following a dip in form.
At that point the batsman felt he could still force his way back into the England squad to take on Australia, with the weight of captaincy lifted from his shoulders.
But, despite a recent innings of 147, Vaughan has only averaged 21 in the County Championship this year and was overlooked in favour of Ian Bell for the Ashes squad.
Vaughan was left out by Yorkshire in their Twenty20 Cup defeat against Derbyshire at Headingley because of the speculation.
However, Andrew Chandler, Vaughan's adviser from the ISM Group, thinks the batsman will wait and see how the first few Tests against Australia go before announcing his decision.
Chandler told the Sunday Mirror: "It's not this weekend. I think he'll wait for a couple of Tests before he makes that decision."
If Vaughan does decide to delay his decision then he could face Somerset and Durham in the County Championship ahead of the second Ashes Test at Lord's.
