CSKA Moscow and Russia winger Yuri Zhirkov says he knows nothing of a reported £18.6 million deal transfer to Chelsea.
Last month it was claimed the Blues had already wrapped up their first transfer of the close season after Zhirkov was recommended by outgoing manager Guus Hiddink.
But the 25-year-old, who can also play at left-back, told Sport Express he was not aware of any deal.
"I honestly know as much about it as everyone else," he said before Russia's World Cup qualifier with Finland.
"I read the papers, listen to the radio and I am genuinely surprised, given that no actual offer from Chelsea exists."
Zhirkov said he would welcome a move to Stamford Bridge under new manager Carlo Ancelotti but said he would first have to "weigh up the pros and cons".
"To sit on the bench and only get on the pitch from time to time doesn't interest me, not even at Chelsea," he continued.
"Moreover, I have nothing to lose [by staying at CSKA], given that CSKA now have a very interesting team who will begin competing in the Champions League in the autumn."
