Lindsay Lohan has continued her criticism of vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The actress had already attacked the Alaskan senator over Ms Palin's handling of her 17-year-old daughter Bristol's pregnancy and now has joined the likes of Pink, Pamela Anderson and Matt Damon in questioning Ms Palin's suitability for a vice-presidential role.

In a joint statement with 'girlfriend' Samantha Ronson on her MySpace page, Lohan said she was unable to "bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin".

"I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States only four years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor, which is probably all she is qualified to be," she went on.

"Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?" Lohan wrote, regarding Ms Palin's alleged right-wing views.

"Is our country so divided that the Republicans' best hope is a narrow-minded, media-obsessed homophobe?"

Damon last week called the selection of Ms Palin as John McCain's running mate a "disaster".

"It's like a really bad Disney movie," he added. "The hockey mom, 'I'm a just a hockey mom from Alaska', and then she's the president and facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It's totally absurd.

"I don't understand why more people aren't talking about it. It's a really terrifying possibility and we're that close to this being a reality is crazy."
