Jade Ewen has been chosen to represent the UK at Eurovision in last night's final of Your Country Needs You.

The singer beat finalists Mark Evans and identical sister act The Twins in a public vote to win the chance to go to Moscow in May.

All three acts sang the ballad that will be performed at the competition, My Time, which was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber in collaboration with US songwriter Diane Warren.

The finalists also performed two cover versions during the show, with 23-year-old Jade singing Beyonce's Deja vu and Lady Marmalade.

Lloyd Webber said he would be "101 per cent" behind whoever won, after admitting last week he may not go to Moscow if an act he was not happy with won.

Britain hit a low point in Eurovision last year, when X-Factor reject Andy Abraham came last.
