West Ham defender Christian Dailly has been called into the Scotland squad for the upcoming games with Austria and the Faroe Islands.
The 33-year-old's late call-up comes after it was confirmed that Kenny Miller, Steven Pressley and Craig Beattie have all been forced to withdraw through injury.
All three will miss both Wednesday's friendly in Vienna and the Euro 2008 qualifier against the Group B minnows a week later.
New Celtic signing Scott Brown and Aberdeen defender Russell Anderson will also miss the friendly against Austria and are also rated as doubtful for the qualifier in Toftir next week.
"Scott Brown and Russell Anderson will not travel to Vienna but will continue to receive treatment through the week, and their condition will be reassessed at the end of the week in the hope that they will be available for the Faroes match," a statement on the Scottish FA website said.
Dailly was due to travel out from London to join Alex McLeish's squad while Lokomotiv Moscow striker Garry O'Connor is also set to fly out from the Russian capital directly to Austria.
O'Connor was called upon on Friday after Everton's James McFadden pulled out with injury and will join up with his international team-mates having scored the winner in the Russian cup final with his club side.
Scotland are currently second in group B having won four of their six matches so far, while the Faroes have yet to earn a point and have only scored one goal in their six games.
