Robert Murat has settled a claim for damages with a number of British newspapers, it has been reported.
Mr Murat had brought the libel action over allegations about his involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
It is understood that he will be present in London's high court on Thursday to receive formal apologies from the newspapers.
It is reported that Mr Murat's legal team have settled with lawyers of 11 of the papers in question.
Media reports suggest he stands to receive around £500,000 in damages.
Madeleine McCann went missing from the holiday resort of Praia da Luz in Portugal in May last year.
She was just three years old at the time and her disappearance sparked an international search headed by her parents Kate and Gerry McCann.
Mr Murat and the McCanns were later named as official suspects, arguidos, by Portuguese police during the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance.
