At least four children are among 11 people killed in north-west
Pakistan after their school bus was caught in a roadside bomb.
Pakistani media said a blast struck a police van carrying prisoners in the Upper Dir district of Northwest Frontier Province.
Five policemen were also killed in the explosion, Geo TV channel said.
Earlier, Pakistan's main police training headquarters in Islamabad was been hit by a car bombing, with several injuries reported.
The blast hit the Police Lines complex, which houses thousands of police officers, in the country's capital.
A senior police official was quoted by the AFP news agency as saying eight people had been hurt.
"Initial reports are that a car bomb exploded within the Police Lines complex. Eight people were wounded," the officer said.
Last month more than 50 people died when the city's Marriott hotel was destroyed in a suicide car bombing.
Pakistan's parliament is today holding an emergency session to discuss the Islamic insurgency blighting the country.
