Police in
Pakistan have seized three vehicles laden with explosives which authorities believe may have been part of a failed terror plot.
The capital city Islamabad has been placed on the highest level of alert after 1,000kg of explosives were found in the vehicles.
Six men have been arrested in Rawalpindi in connection with the incident, senior police officer Rao Mohammed Iqbal confirmed.
Mr Iqbal said the police had "foiled possible terrorist attacks" today.
The terror scare comes just a day after al-Qaida claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on a Danish embassy in Pakistan which killed six people.
The terrorist organisation also threatened to "rain" more attacks on the countries which published the controversial cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad.
In February, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, reprinted images of Muhammad as a terrorist in a bomb-shaped turban.
