A missile attack by a suspected US drone has hit a
Pakistani village, killing at least four people, local officials claim.
Pakistani intelligence officials announced on Wednesday that two missiles had hit a building near the town of Mir Ali, in the North Waziristan region.
The alleged attack took place shortly after Pashtun tribesmen in the border region fired at three drones.
"After the drones came under fire, a missile hit a house in the village. We have four dead now and another nine people were injured," a local security official told the AFP news agency.
The US military has stepped up missile attacks from the unmanned drones in recent weeks, increasing tensions between Washington and Islamabad.
