Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer has confirmed he will be returning to his former club PSV Eindhoven at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old, who moved to Ewood Park in 2006, has announced he has agreed a one-year contract to go back to Holland with his former club - where he played for nine years before his switch to England.
The move has been mooted for several weeks, especially since Ooijer's contract is up this summer.
The Netherlands international said he had avoided making a statement while Rovers were involved in a relegation battle, but has now confirmed he will end his stay in the Premier League.
"It has been a difficult decision as I have had three great years at this club," the centre-back said, admitting the experience at Rovers has made him "a better person".
"But it is time for me to go home. I am just happy that Blackburn are safe."
