Two cases of Britons catching swine flu in the UK have been confirmed by the Health Protection Agency.
Barry Greatorex, from Gloucestershire, told Sky News he believes he contracted the virus from a business meeting with a woman who had been to Mexico.
Mr Greatorex, 42, is the second case of human-to-human transmission in the UK and brings the tally of British victims to 13.
He is being treated with Tamiflu, and told Sky News he hopes he is "on the mend".
"I've been pretty bad all week. Last night we were given Tamiflu. I've not had flu before and the first few days this week I've never experienced anything like it and wouldn't wish it on anybody," he said.
His case follows Graeme Pacitti, who was diagnosed with the virus following a night out with Iain Askham, who was infected while on honeymoon in Cancun.
Alan Johnson, the Health Secretary, is urging Britons to stay calm in the face of the disease.
In an interview with The Times, Mr Johnson said: "There is no cause for anyone to feel there is going to be any danger to them at this stage."
Government scientists studying the virus have said any epidemic is likely to be no worse than anything seen in a normal flu season.
