At least 37 people are said to have been killed after a truck transporting dynamite exploded in northern Mexico.
The mining industry truck was involved in a collision with another vehicle in Coahuila yesterday; with the majority of those killed dying when the wreckage blew up.
Police said that many of their own officers, emergency workers, soldiers and bystanders had been killed in the blast.
Eye witnesses say that a crater 20m wide was created in the roadside concrete by the explosion, which also injured more than 150 people.
State governor Humberto Moreira revealed that at least three photo journalists were among the dead.
"Reporters who were taking photographs died there as well as emergency workers and drivers who stopped to help," he said.
Trucks like the one involved in yesterday's incident, which was travelling between Monclova and Cuatro Cienagas, commonly transport dynamite and other explosives for use in Mexico's coal industry.
