Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have taken to the stage to launch the first public viewing of the new Beatles Rock Band game.
The console game, set for release on September 9th, includes 45 of the Fab Four's songs and allows players to try and replicate the guitar, bass and drums of the Beatles' biggest hits.
Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, the widows of the late John Lennon and George Harrison, also appeared at the E3 Media & Business Summit for the launch of the game, which is the first time the Beatles' catalogue has been licensed for use by a third party.
"We love the game, it's fantastic," said McCartney as developers Harmonix unveiled the game, which allows fans to follow in the band's footsteps and experience legendary shows at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, on the Ed Sullivan television show and at Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.

"The game is good, the graphics are very good, and we were great," remarked Ringo.
Though the entire 45-song roster for the game has not yet been unveiled, the first ten songs were confirmed by Giles Martin, co-producer of the Beatles' LOVE album and supervisor and creative producer for The Beatles: Rock Band.
Players will be able to try their hand at matching the guitar skills of Lennon and McCartney on; I Saw Her Standing There; I Want To Hold Your Hand; I Feel Fine; Taxman; Day Tripper; Back In The USSR; I Am The Walrus; Octopus's Garden; and Here Comes The Sun, while All You Need Is Love will be released as a downloadable song for the Xbox 360, with all profits going towards Doctors Without Borders, the US branch of the Medecins San Frontieres (MSF) charity.
