The Premier League has confirmed it is satisfied Alexandre Gaydamak is the owner of Portsmouth.
Reports in Israel had suggested that the club was listed among the assets of Gaydamak's father, Arkadi, despite being registered with his son, who is more commonly known as Sacha.
A Premier League statement read: "In response to recent press speculation regarding the ownership of Portsmouth Football Club, the Premier League can confirm we have re-examined the current position, found there to be no variance with information already on record and therefore are able to reconfirm that Alexandre Gaydamak is the ultimate beneficial owner of Portsmouth Football Club."
Sacha's father Arkadi is the 56-year-old owner of Beitar Jerusalem, and had an international arrest warrant outstanding against him over allegations of arms trading to Angola in the 1990s when Milan Mandaric sold Portsmouth to his son in January 2006.
League rules contain a 'fit and proper persons' test for club owners, who must submit an annual declaration to that effect, but the Premier League is now happy that Sacha is the club's owner.
