Man arrested in connection with murder of six men in Loughinisland
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of six men and the attempted murder of five other in Loughinisland, Northern Ireland, in 1994.

Kent police, with the assistance of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), arrested the man in Maidstone and the suspect is now being questioned.

On June 18th 1994, six people were killed in the Height's bar in Loughinisland when gunmen opened fire while drinkers watched the Republic of Ireland take on Italy in the World Cup.

The attack came a month before the first IRA and loyalist ceasefires and was seen as part of a sequence of tit-for-tat attacks.
