AC Milan superstar Kaka wants his new team-mate David Beckham to sign a permanent contract with the Italian side.
Beckham made an impressive debut for Milan yesterday, playing 89 minutes alongside Kaka in the 2-2 draw against Roma. The 33-year-old is scheduled to go back to the LA Galaxy in March, but Kaka hopes the former England captain can stay longer.
"David has shown that he is a player ready to run the extra mile," said Kaka. "The first matches showed quite clearly what his qualities are and his passing ability and his capacity to play well.
"Perhaps these first two months will lead to six months or to one year, to more contracts. I certainly would like to play more with him."
Both Beckham and Milan have indicated that the midfielder could extend his association with the Italian side, but it is unclear whether Beckham will sign a contract extension this season or come back on loan next season.
"We have an agreement that he will stay for two months (but) everything is possible. We will see," said Milan technical director Leonardo. "It was a fantastic match for David and he gave us a lot. We are very happy with him."
Beckham meanwhile added he would enjoy his two months at Milan "and then see" when it comes to the possibility of staying longer.
