Rising star Jelena Jankovic stormed through to the quarter-finals of the French Open after crushing Marion Bartoli 6-1 6-1.
The world number five, a darkhorse to triumph at Roland Garros, needed just 64 minutes to get past Frenchwoman Bartoli.
Bartoli, who stunned former finalist Elena Dementieva in the previous round, was hampered by lower back pain throughout the fourth-round encounter.
Serbian ace Jankovic will clash with Nicole Vaidisova in the last eight after the sixth seed thumped Italy's Tathiana Garbin 6-3 6-1.
Jankovic said she is seeing the benefits of changing her service action after a shoulder injury.
"I've been working on it to cut out the mistakes and it's been working," Jankovic said.
"I've been under no pressure here as I have been out for a month. It's just great not to have any pain."
The 21-year-old has won three tournaments on the WTA tour this year and sent Venus Williams packing earlier this week at Roland Garros.
Bartoli's exit means there will be no French player in the quarter-finals for the first time since 1999.
Elsewhere, Anna Chakvetadze beat Amelie Mauresmo's conqueror Lucie Safarova in three sets to book her place in the quarters.
The ninth-seeded Russian came through 6-4 0-6 6-2 against the 20-year-old.
