Fatah has claimed that Hamas has arrested some of the group's senior leaders in the
Gaza Strip.
Hamas forces are reported to have arrested around 15 Fatah officials early in the morning on Friday.
The arrests come during a continuing weeklong crackdown in the Gaza Strip which began after an explosion killed five Hamas gunmen and a child.
Fatah claims that over 200 of its members have been arrested since.
Ibrahim Abu Naja and Zakaria Agha are among those thought to have been arrested. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas appointed the pair to run Fatah in Gaza in 2007.
In retaliation to the arrests, Fatah forces in the
West Bank have seized dozens of Hamas members.
