Up to 15 people have been injured in Jerusalem after a man rammed his car into pedestrians in what police have dubbed as a "terror attack".
At least a dozen soldiers are among the wounded, with two people said to be in a serious condition.
The incident took place last night at 23:00 local time (21:00 BST) in central Jerusalem at an intersection dividing the Jewish and Arab areas of the city.
The driver, who was shot and killed after driving into the pedestrians, has been named by
Israeli media as 19-year-old Palestinian Qassem al-Mughrabi.
"He turned his car towards a group of soldiers who were at an intersection," said Jerusalem police chief Aharon Franco.
"The car then hit a wall, and a soldier shot and killed the terrorist."
The incident, which comes as new Kadima leader Tzipi Livni attempts to form a new government, is the third similar occurrence in recent months after Palestinian construction workers from East Jerusalem twice drove heavy goods vehicles into oncoming traffic, killing three people.
