At least 15 people have been killed and 35 injured in a suicide bombing in the Iraqi city of Baquba.
Local police say a female suicide bomber walked up to police standing outside a government building before detonating an explosive device.
The explosion left a scene of carnage in the area with many civilians hurt in the attack.
A week earlier, a car bomb was detonated at a bus stop in Baghdad which resulted in the deaths of 51 people and injured 75 others in the area.
Previously official statistics showed incidents of violence in the country dropping to a four-year-low primarily due to the US troop surge which saw 30,000 additional troops being deployed to the country.
The latest incidents appear to show that insurgents inside the Middle Eastern nation still have the ability to stage large-scale attacks in spite of improved security in the country.
