The Iranian president has accused the US of plotting to assassinate him during his high-profile visit to Baghdad in early March.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says he has "concrete evidence" of the American plot, and dared Washington to deny the accusation.
Ahmadinejad said the attempt failed because of last-minute changes to his schedule.
Iran's outspoken president also blasted unnamed officials in Baghdad, accusing them of attempting to defend Washington by saying he was never in any danger during the two-day trip.
Meanwhile, an aide to President Ahmadinejad has revealed that there was a similar plot to kidnap and kill the president during the UN food crisis summit in Rome earlier this month.
