Scotland are out of the Twenty20 World Championship after India beat Pakistan 3-1 in a bowl-off in Durban.
The bitter rivals both gained a point to go through to the next stage after Pakistan had tied the game after matching India's modest target of 141.
India then won 3-0 in the bowl-off, similar to a penalty shootout where five players try to hit the stumps from 22 yards.
After being put into bat by Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik, India made a woeful start and were 36-4 at one stage.
Mohammad Asif, who finished with 4-18, ripped through the top order including the wickets of Virender Sehwag (5) and Yuvraj Singh (1).
Rising star Robin Uthappa led the recovery with a half-century before nicking a delivery to wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal off debutant Sohail Tanvir.
Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni fired 33 off 31 balls which included three boundaries and one six.
Shahid Afridi (2-37) removed all-rounder Irfan Pathan for 20 as India closed on 141-9.
Pakistan made a pedestrian start to their chase with openers Salman Butt hitting 16 off 25 balls while Imran Nazir was out for just seven.
Wicket-keeper Akmal blazed 15 before being run out by Yuvraj Singh to leave Geoff Lawson's side on 47-3.
Malik and Misbah ul-Haq put on 40 before the skipper became Pathan's second victim.
Ajit Agarkar's last over went for 17 leaving Pakistan with 12 to win from the last over.
Ul-Haq made 53 from just 37 balls to put the scores level before being run out by Sreesanth in the last ball of the match in search of a quick single.
