Hong Kong's Marco Fu has come from behind to beat Ali Carter 9-7 and reach the UK Championship final in Telford.
Fu fell 4-1 behind early on and trailed 5-3 after the afternoon session, however, he won six of the next eight frames to secure a place in Sunday's showpiece.
Although Fu had two century breaks in the afternoon session it was Carter who was more consistent with his break building. Fu had breaks of 136 and 104 but Carter responded with 81, 59 and 71.
The Hong Kong man won a crucial scrappy frame by nine points at the end of the afternoon session to give himself a chance later in the day.
He then began the second session in blistering form, clearing the table for a break of 106, only for Cater to respond with a break of 66 to re-establish his two frame advantage.
But Fu then rattled off four consecutive frames, with breaks of 64, 78, 75 and 54 to take the lead eight frames to six.
Carter made a brake of 83 to clinch the 15th fame and stay in the match but Fu notched a break of 85 in the 16th frame that ensured his place in Sunday's final.
Fu will now play the winner of today's match between Stephen Maguire and Shaun Murphy.
The defeat means Carter, who was a runner up at the World Championships this year, is still in search of his first title in a rankings tournament.
